Portrait of a  Falcon
This came to be because I wanted to experiment on a different surface than the illustration paper that I normally use. This was created on Ampersand textured pastel board. The main purpose of this experiment was to find a more stable support other than paper so that I would be able to frame my work without a mat or glass.
I am really happy with the results this support gives me and I will be using much more in the future.
I actually saw this bird in action the other day in my backyard. I was sitting in my arbor playing with my dog Sonny, when this falcon came out of nowhere and grapped a pigeon that was perched on my fence. Although I felt bad for the pigeon, it was incredible to see how this bird hunts for it's food. I've never seen anything move that fast. It was incredible to see natures fastest creature at work.
